ACL surgery

Day 0 onwards I had read a lot on the Internet posts about the ACL recovery but nowhere about what to expect from the surgery itself. I have had a hamstring graft and medial meniscus repair and the surgery itself was only for half hour with 15 min each of pre operative and postoperative procedures in the OT. I was awake waist up all the time to see the screen and the hamstring graft etc. and only half hour in the ICU and was back in the room but the effect of anesthesia takes around 8 to 10 hours to wear off. The first two days post the surgery is very important as although there was no restriction on going to the washroom, I didn't have any strength to go there. 2 days at the hospital including the day of the surgery and I was free to go home. Some doctors even suggested just one day at the hospital but I think 2 days was perfect. And after 2 days I had to climb one flight of stairs to my home which was not much of a problem. I climbed in the reverse(as one climbs down) as the knee was in a immobilizer brace which I will have to wear for 2 weeks.
